TOP INVENTIONS/ DISCOVERIES MADE BY INDIANS

PROUD INDIANS

  • MIXING OF ALOY

Ancient Indians were pioneers in metallurgy. High quality steel was produced, almost two thousand years before it was understood by the West. One of the most remarkable feat in metallurgy: creating a seamless celestial globe, was invented in Kashmir. It was earlier considered impossible to create a metal globe without seams.  High-quality steel has been produced in South India since ancient times. The technique used to manufacture it was later on called the crucible technique. Pure wrought iron was first put together with glass and charcoal in a container and was heated till the metal melted and absorbed the carbon.
There are so many ancient things found in the country which shows the existence of the metal by the ancient people.

  • BUTTON

In today lifestyle cloths are very important for us. As same as buttons are very important in clothings. You know Buttons were first used in Mohenjo-daro for ornamental purpose rather than for fastening. They were first used in the Indus Valley Civilization by 2000 BCE. And after that these button converted as a part of human clothing.

  • OPTICAL FIBER

This is a great invention in the field of Information and technology. A thin glass fiber through which light can be transmitted. A great Indian optics scholar Narender Singh Kapani invented this technology with his British partner.  This is a flexible, transparent fiber made by drawing glass, silika or plastic to a diameter slightly thicker than that of a human hair. Optical fibers are used most often as a means to transmit light between the two ends of the fiber and find wide usage in fiber optics, where they permit transmission over longer distances and at higher bandwidth(data rates) than wire cables.

  • ZERO

As all we know the mathematical value of zero is nothing, and we often use the term zero in the sense of nothing. But this is true that zero plays a vital role in the mathematics. The concept of zero as a digit in the decimal place value notation was developed in India, presumably as early as during the Gupta period (c. 5th century), with the oldest unambiguous evidence dating to the 7th century. The origin of the modern decimal-based place value notation can be traced to the great Indian mathematician Aryabhatta (c. 500).

  • QUADRATIC EQUATION

It was in 7th century CE when Brahmagupta found the first general formula for solving quadratic equations. The decimal system (or the Hindu number system), which was a precursor of the Arabic numeric system, was developed in India between the 1st and 6th centuries CE.

  • BINARY NUMBER SYSTEM

Binary numbers were first described by Pingala (c. 200 BC). Pingala is the traditional name of the author of the Chandah Sastra, the earliest known Sanskrit treatise on prosody. The binary numbers played most important role in computer language. We can’t imagine computer programs without binary.

  • AYURVEDA AND SIDDHA MEDICINES

Ayurveda, a Sanskrit name ,means – knowledge of life. Ayurveda medicine, is a system of medicine with historical roots in the Indian subcontinent. According to the vedic literature Ayurveda was the prominent treatment to illness and human problems. Dhanvantari is known as the father of ayurveda.
Siddha medicine is also the invention of India. Generally  the basic concepts of the Siddha medicine are similar to Ayurveda. The only difference appears to be that the siddha medicine recognizes predominance of Vaadham, Pitham and Kabam  in childhood, adulthood and old age, respectively, whereas in Ayurveda, it is totally reversed: Kabam is dominant in childhood, Vaatham in old age and Pitham in adults. The drugs used by the Siddhars could be classified into three groups: thavaram (herbal product), thadhu (inorganic substances) and jangamam (animal products).

  • YOGA

Yoga is also one of the proud invention which India offered to the world.Yoga developed in ancient India. Suggested origins are the Indus valley civilization (3300–1900 BCE) and  the Vedik period  (1500–500 BCE). Yoga is basically a sanskrit name means addition. In the present time after the huge effort of Swami Ram Dev (Famous yoga Instructor) and many yoga teachers, yoga becomes a well known physical practice among the people. UNO also declared  21 june as YOGA DAY.

  • SURGERY

Yes friends, this is true that India performed the first surgery to the injured as a treatment.  Indian physician Sushruta (6th century BCE) had the knowledge of performing cataract surgery. It spread to China from India. Greek scientists would visit India to get operations done and also to learn the nitty-gri.
Plastic surgery techniques were being carried out in India by 800 BC. Shusruta was a physician that made important contributions to the field of plastic and cataract surgery in 6th century BC. The medical works of both Sushruta and Charak originally in Sanskrit were translated into the Arabic language during the Abbasid Caliphate in 750 AD.

  • DIMOND

Almost 5000 years ago, diamonds were first recognized and mined in central India. Huge deposits of diamonds were found in Central India and it gradually developed as a precious stone. Worldwide, India was the only source of diamonds until the discovery of mines in Brazil. India till 18th century was the only country where diamonds were found and were later on exported to other countries. Indians were well aware of the physical properties of diamond like its durability, ability to cut other hard surfaces, sparkling effect and the refractive property. Various ancient books have mentioned the use of diamond as a tool and have also mentioned the exquisiteness of this sparkling stone.
"KOh-i-noor dimond -known as most precious dimond in the world",  was originated at Golconda in the Andhra Pradesh state of India.

  • WATER ON MOON

ISRO’s Chandrayaan-1 made the startling discovery that our moon is not a dry ball of rocks. The discovery of lunar water is attributed to the Chandrayaan mission. ISRO is the organization, works on  Indian space programs. ISRO- Indian Space Research Organization. You can feel so proud after reading about ISRO and it's space programs.
ISRO is a very famous space agency in the  world for it's cheap excellent space programs in present time.

  • INK

Many ancient cultures and civilizations independently discovered and prepared ink for writing purposes. The source of carbon pigment used in Indian Ink (called musi) used in ancient India, was India. Since 4th century BC, the practice of writing with ink with a sharp pointed needle was common in South India.

  • RADIO WIRELESS COMUNICATION

We all know that Marconi received a Nobel Prize in Physics in 1909 for contribution to the development of wireless telegraphy. But the first public demonstration of radio waves for communication was made by Sir Jagdish Chandra Bose in 1895, two years prior to Marconi’s similar demonstration in England. Sir Bose was posthumously credited (more than a century later) for his achievement. The fact remains that this discovery truly shaped the face of modern wireless communication. He is also known as the person who had been indicated life in plants.

The all invention are the great gift to entire world by Indians. And every Indian should proud of these great people, who raised the name of this great country on the world platform.
